Roasted Chestnuts




INGREDIENTS
1 lbChestnuts
Salt
Water


PREPARATION
Cut a shallow slit across the curved surface of each chestnut. Make sure the inner skin is also slit. Squeeze each chestnut to insure slit is open.
Put all chestnuts in a sauce pan and fill with water just above the chestnut.
Bring water to a mild boil for 5 minutes, remove the sauce pan from heat.
Drain water and put chestnuts in a baking pan.
Bake 425° F for 15 minutes. Remove from baking pan into a bowl and cover with a towel allowing the steam to moisten, about 10 minutes.
Peel and serve.
